I was having similar problems with the dell 3110cn.
I tried unplugging the printer, but it did not help...until my husband came and restarted it himself, after which it printed just fine. Sorry it will not be very helpful to you... But you actually do not need the printer driver to print from a mac. Mac can send documents to printers without extra driver. So you might want to remove the driver, try printing without it and restart both computers and printer if it does not work.
